Postural
Assessments
If you are suffering with muscle, joint or skeletal problems, we may invite you to see one of our physiotherapists for a postural assessment prior to starting your sessions.
The physiotherapist will make recommendations as to what level of Pilates is appropriate for you and any exercise adaptations that you require.
Our physiotherapists are available for follow up appointments whenever you need them and will work closely with your Pilates instructor to ensure that you are progressing and your programme evolves as your strength and fitness builds.
Our aim is to ensure you have access to our physiotherapy team throughout your fitness journey so that our teachers can better support you in our classes
Beginner Pilates
Our beginner courses are designed to support individuals who are new to Pilates or have musculoskeletal imbalances or joint issues that have impacted natural movement.
In our small, inclusive beginner classes you will be gently introduced to the Pure Balance approach.
You will be supported in developing optimal functional movement for your specific health and fitness needs.
You can choose to stay on our beginner course for as long as you and your teacher feel is right for you and your individual needs.
Our aim is to provide you with a safe and effective introduction to exercise, tailored to your needs, regardless of pre-existing health conditions, body type or experience of exercise.
Chair Pilates
If you want to improve your health but are currently unable to exercise from the floor, then our chair classes are for you.
Our safe, effective and friendly chair-based exercise programme will allow you to develop greater confidence of movement. You will build strength to improve balance and co-ordination, prevent falls and support with day-to-day tasks. Over time, you might progress to a mat-based routine.
Our aim is to support individuals who are restricted in their movement to reduce their risk of falls, adapting their movement patterns around pre-existing conditions to remain independently mobile for as long as possible.
Mat Pilates
If your focus is to gain greater control of your movement through enhanced strength and balance, then our functional Pilates classes of up to 12 people will be right for you.
Our teachers will ensure that from week to week a class will never be quite the same by using a wide variety of equipment to enhance and modify your exercise programme.
However, the Pure Balance principles remain at the heart of our classes with instructors ensuring that exercises are adapted to individual needs to provide a safe but progressive approach to your health and fitness journey.
Our aim is to maximise your muscle, joint, skeletal health, core strength and balance by challenging you with our programme of individualised Pilates!
Performance Pilates
If you are a keen sportsperson or already enjoy an active lifestyle, then our Performance Pilates classes are for you.
Designed to support you in developing optimal movement patterns, our Performance Pilates classes are dynamic and fast-paced to challenge and develop your mental focus, balance and co-ordination.
Our teachers will help you learn how to use your body effectively and efficiently with muscles firing in an appropriate sequence to enable powerful movement while reducing risk of injury.
Our aim is to enable you to excel in your chosen sports or activity for as long as possible.
EquiPilates™
Whether you are an established horse-rider or about to embark on horse-riding lessons, then EquiPilates should form a pivotal part of both you and your horses' health and well-being.
Equipilates™ is a specialised fitness program that combines the principles of Pilates with equestrian training to enable a safe and effective riding position that helps to minimises the risk of injury to both you and your horse. PBP is fortunate to have a qualified teacher on our team.
Our aim is to support you in developing an improved riding posture that increases endurance and stability in the saddle. This allow your horse to move freely and without injury, while also protecting you from the risk of back, neck and wider joint issues.
Private Pilates Sessions
If you require a bespoke, tailored Pilates programme, you may be advised, or choose individualised sessions.
During a private Pilates session you will be taught a variety of mat or machine-based exercises relevant to your fitness level and health-goals.
Our objective is to provide you with a strong understanding of your own body to allow you to gain greater control of your movement.
